Age requirement
WAVOA accounts are for people aged 16 and over. We don’t knowingly create an account for anyone under 16, anywhere in the world.
Under 16? You can still use WAVOA in guest mode — live forecasts, no account, no saved spots or alerts, and no personal data collected.
If an under-16 has an account
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we delete the account and its data within 7 days. A parent or guardian can ask us to do this at any time through the contact form — no questions asked.
COPPA (USA)
WAVOA is not directed at children under 13 in the USA, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn we’ve inadvertently collected such information, we delete it within 7 days. Parents who believe their child has signed up despite our age gate should use the contact form with “COPPA” in the subject — we’ll act within 24 hours.
GDPR-K (EU)
GDPR Article 8 lets each EU member state set the digital age of consent anywhere between 13 and 16. Rather than run a different parental-consent flow in every country, WAVOA applies a single 16+ rule across the entire EU/EEA — the strictest, simplest line we can hold — and does not knowingly process the data of anyone under 16.
